Production was halfway through when Walker passed away in Southern California in a fiery car explosion. And weeks after Walker’s death it was unclear on if Universal would continue and production was shut down indefinitely, then movie star and friend of Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson come out sometime later in the news in Dubai stating: “Right at the top of of the year, we’ll be here for Fast 7.”

“At this point, it’s all about being inspired by Paul,” he continued. I mean, he started the franchise,  literally,  one of my best friends ever, man.”

“Sometimes I find it hard to enjoy life because he’s not here,” Gibson continued.  “But me knowing him, he would want us to keep smiling,  keep having fun. I’ve never seen him cry, I’ve never seen him sad. I’ve known him for 13 years, so you know, we gotta keep rocking. And we gotta keep this franchise alive. At this point, because it’s a multicultural film that has had an impact around the world, I know he would want us to continue doing this on his behalf.”

Movie star and friend of Paul Walker, Vin Diesel released the new release date for the movie on December 23, 2013 over Twitter tweeting: “The last scene we filmed together…

There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…

Fast and Furious 7 will be released…

April 10th 2015!

P.s. He’d want you to know first…”

Screenwriter, Chris Morgan began rewriting. Filmmakers were said to be attempting to salvage what scenes Walker shot for the film before his death to use so his character will be retired instead of being killed off in a way so that the franchise will be able to still move forward.
